  • Located in the North Vietnam, in the heart of the Red River Delta, Hanoï is bordered by the Sông Hồng (Red River) and by many natural lakes.
  • She is the political capital of the country, but also a major cultural and historical center, with a population of more than 8 million inhabitants.

🧬 History and identity

  • Officially founded in 1010 by the king Lý Thái Tổ, under the name of Thăng Long (Dragon Flies Away), Hanoï is one of the oldest capitals in Asia.
  • It was the capital of theFrench Indochina from 1902 to 1954, then from Democratic Republic of Vietnam, before becoming that of reunified Vietnam in 1976.
  • Its current name, Hà Nội, means “the city within the rivers”, reflecting its fluid and symbolic geography.

This hotel is my favorite in Hanoi. Its hospitality is remarkable. It is ideally located near the Temple of Literature and the Museum of Fine Arts. Within walking distance, you will find the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum, as well as the pagoda along the lake. In 30 minutes on foot, you can reach the cathedral, Sword Lake and its temple, among others. On site, a map of the main tourist sites is available.
