Mekori Temple

Welcome to Mekori Temple

The day after our stop in Blimbing, we'll set off early in the morning for the 8th-century Mekori Temple. Arriving at the entrance to the path leading to the temple, we'll don our sarongs before receiving a blessing from a Brahmin priest. We'll then take a path through the jungle, where we'll encounter monkeys begging for food. This temple is surrounded by large banyan trees, trees with aerial roots, which gives it a special charm. You'll feel like you're on an Indiana Jones adventure. The atmosphere in this humid tropical jungle setting is captivating, but don't forget to bring insect repellent, as this is the only place I really needed it.
