Le lac est localis\u00e9 sur la route nationale 6, qui relie la France par la Savoie \u00e0 l'Italie. Le point de d\u00e9part, situ\u00e9 au niveau du barrage, se trouve \u00e0 une altitude de 1978 m\u00e8tres.
