Welcome to New Delhi<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

New Delhi, also known as Delhi by locals, was visited in the middle of the rainy season. New Delhi takes its name from British colonial rule and was built south of Old Delhi, becoming the capital of the British Indian Empire in 1911. In 1947, independent India confirmed New Delhi as its capital. It is a densely populated city with a constant bustle, where vehicles of all kinds circulate, punctuated by the incessant blare of horns (as is the case throughout the rest of India).<\/b><\/p>\n

The quietest area remains that of the ministries and the presidential palace, from where an impressive avenue begins that the Hindus compare to our famous avenue of the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es, because at the end of this avenue stands majestically a triumphal arch at the foot of which stands the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.<\/b><\/p>\n

In Delhi, Akshardham Temple is a gem not to be missed, it's so magnificent and majestic. It's free to visit, but unfortunately, photography is prohibited. As with any temple in India, you'll need to leave your shoes in a locker, along with all your personal belongings and, unfortunately, your camera.<\/b><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
