The Red Fort of Agra is an iconic monument in India, located in the city of Agra. Built of red sandstone in 1565 by the Mughal emperor Akbar, it is considered one of the most important forts in the country. The fort houses several buildings, including the famous Palace of Mirrors, richly decorated with intricate mosaics, as well as mosques and gardens.
It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983.
