Samaria Gorge

The Samaria Gorge, located in Crete, offers a striking natural landscape. With its steep rock walls and lush vegetation, it stretches for approximately 16 kilometers. Hikers can discover a diverse flora and fauna, as well as historical remains such as the ancient deserted village of Samaria. We will transfer from Omalos to Xiloskalo (1200m), then descend into the Samaria Gorge. The first part of the hike is steep, but we will then reach the heart of the gorge and follow the course of the river. Arrive at the village of Agia Roumeli for a welcome swim. In the evening, dinner and overnight stay in Agia Roumeli.

Agia Roumeli is a small, picturesque village located on the southwest coast of Crete, Greece. Surrounded by towering mountains and sandy beaches, it offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. The village is accessible only by boat or on foot, making it an ideal place for hiking and nature lovers.
