📍 Location

  • Located in the Muğla province, in the southwest of Turkey, Bodrum stretches over a peninsula bordered by the Aegean Sea, facing the Greek island of Kos.

🧬 History and heritage

  • Founded by the Dorians In the 11th century BC, Halicarnassus was the capital of Caria under Persian domination.
  • She is famous for having seen the birth of Herodotus, the “father of history”, and for having sheltered the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
