Château Garreau: A Jewel of Armagnac
Located in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Château Garreau is one of the jewels of Armagnac production. Nestled in Labastide-d'Armagnac, this family estate covers 82 hectares, including 27 hectares of vines dedicated primarily to Armagnac. Since 1919, the Garreau family has perpetuated ancestral know-how, combining tradition and modernity to produce exceptional Armagnacs.
A Unique Terroir
Château Garreau benefits from an exceptional terroir, the famous "sables fauves", an ochre-colored sandy-loam soil, ideal for viticulture. This unique terroir gives the estate's Armagnacs fruity notes and unparalleled aromatic complexity.
The Armagnac Ecomuseum
The estate is also home to the Armagnac Ecomuseum, a place dedicated to promoting and preserving the history and traditions of this brandy. Visitors can discover the winemaker's museum, the still museum, as well as permanent and temporary exhibitions. A nature trail around the estate's ponds offers an immersive experience in the region's natural beauty.
Distillation and Aging
Château Garreau uses Armagnac stills dating from 1919 and 1932, still in use, to distill its Armagnac. The brandy is then aged in a century-old underground cellar, providing ideal conditions for the development of its complex aromas.
Activities and Wine Tourism
The estate offers a variety of wine tourism activities, including guided tours, tastings, and even an escape game called "Armagnac: Mission Distillation." Visitors can also participate in seasonal events, such as stillside dining during distillation and night markets in the summer.

Products
