Apremont Gorges
Welcome to the Apremont Gorges hike in Fontainebleau Forest
To get to this hike, just go to the painters' village of Barbizon, take its main street and cross the village, and at the end when entering the forest, you can park (parking lot 1 on the map).
After that, it's very simple, as the route is marked with a blue line and numbered 6. Allow 2 hours 30 minutes, taking the time to take photos and admire the landscape. The distance is approximately 9 km, with passages through the rocks.
At 2 on the map you will see Elephant Rock.
In 3, it is the viewpoint of the Apremont gorges.
In 4, follow the fork numbered 6.6 to take the direction of Mare aux Biches via the Apremont ridges, otherwise you will do additional kilometers.
In 5, you will pass the bandits' cave before going back down towards the Bas Bréau crossroads and the Barbizon road. After this walk, you can stroll through the painters' village of Barbizon and have a drink.
