  • Located in 13 km off the coast of Cancun, in the State of Quintana Roo, Isla Mujeres is located where the Gulf of Mexico meet the Caribbean Sea.

🧬 Origins and spirituality

  • In pre-Hispanic times, the island was dedicated to Ixchel, Mayan goddess of the moon, love and fertility.
  • Mayan women did it pilgrimage to mark their passage into adulthood.
  • The Spanish conquistadors, discovering female statues on the beaches, baptized her “Isla Mujeres”the island of women.

🌊 Landscapes and beaches

  • Playa Norte : considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico, with his white sand, his shallow waters and his spectacular sunsets.
